Did you know the laws, i have wrriten it up for you

Equal Oppurtunites Laws:
Disability Discrimination Act: is a law designed to end discrimination against disabled pepole. This applies to all employers and employees whom provide a service to the public, except the jobs which are difficult for the disabeld to take part in such as, armed force, tree clibing, rock clibing and fire fighters. It meets the needs of small to medium sized businesses because it is said that it is fexible enough to take part of your organisations cirucumstances.DDA stands for Disability Discrimination Act, which from October 2004 changed. All employement whatever the size of the organnisation has to take part in making sure that the Disabilty Discrimination Act is met. Before working as a police officer, firer fighter and prison service used to be excluded, but now this no longer is the case. All employers and employees except the armed force have duties under the Disability Discrimination Act, which makes it against the law to discriminate disabled pepole.
Working time regulations: This is made so that you do not work more hours than you should. Working time regulations came into force in 1998, but was amended from first august 2003, to extend the working time measures in full to non mobile workers in road, sea, inland waterways and lake transport and to all workers in the railway and offshore sectors. The working time regulations was then ameneded again in 6th, to provied rights for adolescent workers, enhanced rights.All workers must work forty eight hours a week but the employee can choose to work more if they want, they also should work a limit of 8 hours in 24 which a night worker can be required to do, this is for all employees in the UK, they also have the right to 11 hours rest a day, a right to have one day off each week. The employees also have a right to an in-work rest break, only if the working day is longer than 6 hours, the employees have a right to four weeks paid leave per year.
The Race Relations Act 1976: This is an act which helps band this discrimination on grounds of race, direct discrimination for example on race could be when, applying for a certain job and in this job description it states, that you must have blond hair blue eyes, this is a discrimination towards black people because they can not have blue eyes or natural blond hair.
The Employment Equality ( sexual orientation ) Regulations 2003: This Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003 outlaws discrimination and harassment in employment on the grounds of sexual orientation. This act is introduced to protect discrimination and harassment in the work place. The regulations outlaws:
v Direct discrimination – treating people differently than others on grounds of their sexual orientation.
v Indirect discrimination – saying that some thing can not be done because of a persons sex
v Harassment – unwanted physically attention that violates people’s dignity or creates an intimidating.
v Victimisation – treating people less favourably because of something they have done under, or in connection with, the Regulations.
Sex Discrimination Act 1975: This is an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom to protect men and women from discrimination on the grounds of gender.This act is mainly in relation to employment, trainingmand education. Act 1975 and the Equal Pay Act 1970 are a "package” that came into force together. They are referred to together as the "sex discrimination legislation". It helps to stop discrimination against gender; an example could if an employer dismisses an employee because she refuses to have sex with him, which will be unfair dismissal. Another example could be when applying for a job and on that job description writes that only single men may apply.
